Marketing Perspective: Social Media Influencers

Hey Everyone!
Welcome to my SNHU Blog!

Social media stars have an enormous amount of influence. Some of these influencers have millions of fans which makes this an excellent marketing opportunity for businesses. Someone such as Oprah Winfrey, who has nearly 43 million followers just on Twitter, has the potential to reach all of them with a particular message.

Product placement is the most common strategy that I see with influencers. Doing something as simple as wearing a t-shirt or drinking/eating a particular food brand is going to be seen by millions. It makes sense that some of these influencers are getting paid $300,000 for one day’s work. Influencers are important because they are able to convey your message in an entertaining way that is very effective. It also saves you the trouble of trying to come up with more content.

I think this is an excellent relationship that companies can have with their consumers through an influencer. Everything is about reviews now. People do not trust ads and rely more on the opinion of others. If that other person is famous and someone you respect or admire, you are more likely to listen. Joe Rogan does an amazing job of pushing ads before each of his podcasts. He talks about the product from personal experience and makes compelling reasons for his listeners t also purchase the product. It is one of the most cost effective means of marketing.
